How to get to Syros

You can easily reach Syros from Athens, as ferries depart from Piraeus port almost daily. During summer, some extra ferry routes to Syros are carried out from Rafina port in Attica. This port is located relatively close to Athens International Airport “Eleftherios Venizelos”

From Athens airport to Piraeus Port by taxi
It normally takes approximately 1hour for a taxi to get from Athens airport to Piraeus.

From central Athens to Piraeus by taxi
The journey takes approximately 30 minutes.

From Athens airport to Rafina Port by taxi
It normally takes approximately 30 minutes for a taxi to get from Athens airport to Rafina.

From central Athens to Piraeus by taxi
The journey takes approximately 45 minutes.

How to get to the Ports

Ferry

There are daily ferry runs to the ports below:
Piraeus (duration: 4 hrs by conventional ferry and 2.5 hrs by high-speed ferry), Rafina (duration: 1.5 hrs), Cyclades islands.

Arriving to Syros

Welcome to Syros! Once you arrive at the port or airport you can get a TAXI from the Taxi station. you can check the rates here.

Alternatively, you can rent a car from the car rental company, also located at the port. Please note that it get very busy during summer season, so it is best to either rent a car at the airport or hire a taxi. 

Moreover, most of the hotels on Syros have their own minibus and will transfer you from the hotel to the port or to the airport – just check with them before arriving!
